Day & Resource Center Goals & Services
The main goal of the Day & Resource Center is to provide quality services to those in need, and to invest our personal and professional time in getting to know the stories of those individuals who choose to be our guests. Any who come to us and complete a brief registration/intake packet are welcome to use our services.
Service include, but are not limited to:
- To provide a daytime shelter from the elements;
- To provide hospitality services such as coffee and snacks to those in need;
- To provide sanitary services such as restrooms, shaving, and shower facilities;
- To provide professional services such as phone use and mailboxes;
- To offer case management services to anyone who requests such assistance
- To provide assistance with housing searches
- To provide referrals to other assisting agencies for purposes of:To offer a safe space to host recovery meetings and other spiritual and social supportive social groups
- Mental health care
- Detox/Rehab
- Job Counseling and placement assistance
- Free legal aid agencies
- Other services not otherwise provided by the Arundel House of Hope
Day & Resource Center Location and Hours
The Day & Resource Center is located at
514 North Crain Highway, Suite K in Glen Burnie, MD
(Directly across the street from Empire Towers – look for the “514” blue awning)
Hours of Operation
- Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
During the week (Monday – Friday) case management and other advanced Day Center Services are generally provided from 9:00 AM until 3:30 / 4:00 PM, although exceptions may be made for emergency cases. In general, there are no advanced services during Saturday hours.
Day & Resource Center History
The Resource and Day Center was opened in June of 2006 and provides service to men, women, and children experiencing homelessness in Anne Arundel County. Our doors and services are open to all. The Day & Resource Center is not technically a “program,” and as such does not impose any restrictions or criteria on who it serves or how it does so. All are welcomed and encouraged to come.
